CORPORATE WELLNESS COACHING

Having spent many years in the corporate world pursuing a successful career, I have experienced the daily challenges of  highly stressful jobs, increasing work loads and growing performance expectations myself first hand.

I know that a culture of wellness in any organization is one of the most important ways to protect the health and wellness of your employees and the long-term sustainability and growth of your organization. An individualized corporate wellness program inspires and engages people to make small, achievable changes in their daily routines. This will increase their overall health, well-being, performance and employee satisfation.

Based on my own experiences, it is one my passions to support those in the corporate world on their path to optimal health and lifestyle habits so that they can improve their job performance and become more resilient to the stressors of the daily challenges in their work enviroment.

Are you wondering if wellness programs are just a trend or if they provide actual value for employee health and engagement?

Many successful companies have proven already that employee wellbeing is a foundational layer of high-performing workforces everywhere and is a key factor in a long list of business outcomes, including healthcare costs, productivity, retention, safety, absenteeism, collaboration and company culture. Larger employers often are able to afford dedicated staff and on going programs solely focussing on employee wellness.

Here are some numbers on employee wellness programs and possible cost savings:

The RAND Report – stating that the ROI on wellness programs is almost always positive. (For more details on the RAND Reporte report please click here)

In a study done on the ROI of employee wellness programs, Harvard researchers conclude that, on average, for every dollar spent on employee wellness, medical costs fall $3.27 and absenteeism drops $2.73. This is a 6-to-1 return on investment. (Find more details please click here).

A Harvard Business Review article (read full article here) confirmed how ROI can be attained through employee wellness programs, specifically looking at high health risk employees. Of those classified as high risk (with body fat, blood pressure, anxiety level and other measures) when the study started:

  • 57 percent were converted to low-risk status by the end of the six-month program
  • Medical claim costs declined by $1,421 per participant, compared to the previous year
  • Every dollar invested in the employee wellness program yielded $6 in health care savings.

While the hard savings from decreases in health care costs and employee sick leave are only one part of the equation, it is absolutely important to emphazies the many additional benefits achieved by improving employees’ overall health, lifestyle and well-being.

Although it is obvious that lasting changes will not happen overnight, studies after studies show that wellness programs absolutely have a substantial impact on lowering healthcare claims and costs, increasing productivity, improving hiring and retention and therewith helping your bottom line.
